Hello! My name is Katrin Fink and I am a licensed massage therapist (LMT) in Portland, OR. I have many years of experience and training in various massage and bodywork techniques and I am passionate about helping people heal and improve the quality of their lives.
IN 1997, I graduated from the Sarasota School of Massage and then continued my studies in medical massage. I received my certification as a neuromuscular massage therapist in 1999 from the International Academy of Neuromuscular Therapies in St. Petersburg, FL. Neuromuscular massage therapy identifies and treats soft tissue pain and dysfunction. It is used to help heal soft tissue problems such as sciatica, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, TMJ dysfunction, and whiplash injuries from auto accidents.
I have also been practicing craniosacral therapy since 2005. Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle form of hands-on, manual therapy that releases tension and restrictions deep within the body, relieves pain and improves the client’s overall health. It strengthens the body’s natural healing ability and it is a preventive technique to bolster the body’s resistance to disease.
Most recently, I earned my certification as a Bowenwork practitioner from the American Bowen Academy. Bowenwork is a gentle muscle and connective tissue therapy that utilizes small and measured inputs to the body at specific sites which stimulate the nervous system to create greater healing and balance in the body.
I have been working with patients recovering from auto accidents, chronic pain, sports injuries, cancer, stress and many other health challenges for many years. I have witnessed over and over the powerful effects of skilled and intuitive bodywork in helping people heal and recover. I also continue to take classes to deepen my understanding and knowledge as a healing practitioner.
